Frequently Asked Questions

ALices AA Couple

We are always happy to answer any questions that you might have about Alice’s Clubhouse. Here are a few of the questions we are most frequently asked:

Where are you located?

Alice’s Clubhouse is located at 1156 Bowman Road, Suite 105 in Mt. Pleasant. We are in a modern, well-appointed building – with plenty of parking and easy access.

How do I know if my loved one will be a good fit with what Alice’s Clubhouse offers?

Each of our members is unique, but all have a diagnosis of mild to moderate memory loss (Alzheimer’s/dementia). Unfortunately, we are not able to accept members with a more severe diagnosis. The assessment conducted by our Executive Director and RN ensures that there is a good fit for your loved one at Alice’s Clubhouse.

Wow. I think my loved one may have memory loss. What should I expect to go through as a caregiver?

As a caregiver or relative of someone with memory loss it can be confusing and overwhelming. We created this chart to help you understand what you might go through, or be going through, as you come to grips with the situation.

When Is the best time for my loved one to become a member?

Simply put, the sooner your loved one can join us after a diagnosis, the better – for both them and you. Studies have shown that the earlier a person with memory loss is engaged in a stimulating routine such as the Alice’s Clubhouse experience, the better it is for them. And we have repeated anecdotal evidence that the Alice’s Clubhouse program can not only slow the progress of the disease, but our members have frequently improved, as well. The benefit to the caregivers is also impressive.

We know it is a hard to accept that a loved one is on the Alzheimer’s/dementia path, but the sooner the reality is accepted, the sooner we can help.

How much does Alice’s Clubhouse cost?

We’ve priced Alice’s Clubhouse to be more favorable than in-home day care, and we offer so much more — more activity, stimulation and socialization, more convenience and more people to care for your loved one.

You can read about our cost-effective pricing model here.

How is Alice’s Clubhouse regulated?

Alice’s Clubhouse is licensed by the State of South Carolina’s Department of Health and Environmental Control.

Do you accept members for just a few hours a day?

Our program is based on having each member stay at Alice’s Clubhouse from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. To help our member’s caregivers, the facility is open from 8:30 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon. It is important, however, that each member be at the Clubhouse during the program hours.

Are all the wellness and other services offered directly by Alice’s Clubhouse?

The core program and our delicious daily lunch and snacks are all included in the daily fee for Alice’s Clubhouse. Payment for additional services, such as physical therapy or podiatry, is made directly with that provider. Alice’s Clubhouse does offer showers for an additional fee.

Why should we participate in a day program?

According to Cargiver.com, the number one way for caregivers to wisely spend their dollars is to enroll their loved one in an adult day program. Quality programs, such as Alice’s Clubhouse, support the care-receiver and provide respite to the caregiver and the freedom to attend to their own lives.
