A Day Designed Around What Works
A day at Alice’s Clubhouse is not open-ended time to fill. It is a thoughtfully structured program built around the realities of dementia, and around what makes a day feel meaningful, engaging, and worth showing up for.
Every element of the daily schedule is intentional: the timing, the activities, the transitions, the social time, the meals. Nothing is accidental.
Everything is designed to support cognitive function, encourage engagement, be fun and stimulating, and help members feel comfortable, capable, and connected.

“The most common sound inside Alice’s Clubhouse is laughter.”
If you have been wondering whether your loved one would genuinely enjoy their day here, this and the smiles are often what families notice first.

WHAT THE DAY INCLUDES
Program Elements

Cognitive Stimulation
Activities are designed to engage memory, language, attention, and problem-solving, while remaining appropriate to each member’s abilities. Programming adapts as needs change, creating stimulation that challenges without being overwhelming.

Physical Activity
Gentle movement, guided exercise, dancing, and physical engagement help support mood, reduce behavioral symptoms, and improve overall wellbeing. Activities are adjusted for each member’s mobility and comfort level.

Creative Arts
Art therapy, music, crafts, and hands-on creative projects provide meaningful opportunities for expression and engagement. Creative programming activates areas of the brain that often remain accessible even with significant memory loss.

Social Connection
Shared meals, group activities, and consistent relationships with staff and fellow members create genuine connection. Familiar faces and recurring interactions are deeply therapeutic for individuals living with memory loss.

Balanced Nutrition
Delicious, thoughtfully prepared meals are served in a warm social setting. Proper nutrition plays a critical role in dementia care, and mealtime often becomes one of the most meaningful parts of the day.

Music Therapy
Music is one of the most powerful tools in memory care. Even individuals with advanced dementia often respond strongly to familiar songs and rhythms from their past. Our music programming is active, engaging, and intentionally therapeutic.

The Medical Model Difference
Unlike social day programs, Alice’s Clubhouse operates with onsite nursing oversight. Members also have access to physical, occupational, and speech therapies, as well as podiatry and salon services, without leaving the building.
This is more than convenience. For families balancing multiple appointments and caregiving responsibilities, consolidating services at Alice’s Clubhouse reduces the logistical challenges of care. By bringing support together in one place, families can feel confident that their loved one’s needs are being addressed by a connected care team rather than through disconnected services.
This approach not only improves continuity of care but also gives caregivers valuable time to focus on their own well-being while knowing their loved one is supported.
A Team That Knows Your Loved One
Every staff member at Alice’s Clubhouse is dementia-trained. Our staff-to-member ratio of 1:6 or better, exceeding the state requirement of 1:8, means that each person receives individualized attention.
We do not just know our members’ names. We know what music they love, what calms them down, what makes them laugh, and how their good days and hard days tend to unfold. That knowledge is built over time and it makes the care better.
